So let's get on with it. We must put the case for Brexit anew. We must take nothing for granted. It doesn't matter what we do with the money. We can put it in the NHS or buy pink elephants with it. The point is it's hard working British peoples' money and it should be spent on them. The EU is not democratic. The people who run it are oligarchical despots - and not benevolent ones either. Paying all this money for "free trade" - what a contradiction in terms! And who benefits? Not the ordinary people who stump up the cash! And why, for this "free trade" do we have to let Brussels/ Strasbourg (EU have two Parliaments) make 59% of our laws? How does that work? Well, it doesn't. We only rubber stamp their commands in our Parliament. We are vassals and our Parliament is a puppet EU...
"The Way of the Samurai is found in death. It is not particularly difficult, be determined and advance. If by setting one's heart right every morning and evening, one is able to live as though his body were already dead, he gains freedom in the Way. His whole life will be without shame, and he will succeed in his calling. This is the substance of the Way of the Samurai." From The Hagakure...
photo by Suneko Diary (13) "WAYWARD FLAMINGOES ON THE WING" May 17, 2009 I don't normally buy local papers. But this headline caught my eye. "Wayward Flamingoes return to parish". Flamingoes? Louisiana has Flamingoes? You gotta be kidding. I bought the paper. And there, on May 7, 2009, I read an absolutely charming article written by Cyndi Sellers. The gist...
Diary (12) Sunday, May 17, 2009 DWI, KILLED A KID, BUT POLICE SAY DRIVER "WASN'T IN THE WRONG IN THE CRASH"!?? Occasionally you read something in the newspaper, and it makes you despair. Human life is worth less and less each day. Sometimes you feel you could weep for the future of compassion amongst the human race. If you are a writer, or a scribbler, as I prefer to...
My best friend just broke my heart - if I remember what it's like to have a heart breaking -betrayal - confusion. I wasn't 'in love' with him - don't know how to do that. I saw him for who he was - broken by life's battles, addictions and heartbreak, but noble nonetheless. He made me laugh and God help me, I've loved him in spite of all I knew about him. An unlikely pair -...
Two eagles rose in the air to meet each other through screaming deathcries of war. The first, a solid white bird of prey, rushed through barreling updrafts careening toward his enemy, a black griffinhawk. He flashed his brilliant white wings as he dove through bursts of clouds, spinning in hypervolume bulletglide slicing through winds too fast to be real. His keen eyes glinted in the setting...
