A Rainbow's Message

Resting on a lounge chair next to a pool
The weather sunny and bright
With songs from my ipod
So soothing and calm

There was a fountain big and tall
In the middle of the pool it stood
Its water dropping from its height
Creating melodious music of its kind

I must have dozed off
Only to be woken up
By the fine water mist
Blown towards my face

I opened my eyes
And saw right in front of me
A spectacular rainbow
So beautiful and hypnotizing

God must have known I needed it
To send a rainbow so cheery
To give me a reason to smile
When I was feeling down and out

He must have wanted to see
The look on my face
When He quietly sang to me
A message so true and uplifting

Look at the colours of the rainbow
Look on the bright side of life
Each day has many different colouring
So your life's a rainbow too

Thank you for your comment, Harry.

I'm watching the coverage of "9/11 TEN YEARS ON" on BBC World News right now. My prayers are with those affected by it.  Some are still mourning their loss even up to this day.  It's sad and unfortunate.

Francis Meyrick

It's interesting for me to see you enjoying inserting images.Smile

It's great when an image beautifully illustrates a poem, like here. It can do so really intensely. If you look at the Jennifer's recent poem "Some assembly required" that picture alone is also worth a thousand words.

Flying over the Gulf, you see many things, including rainbows. They contrast with dark days, funnel clouds, storms and wind shear.

QuoteLook at the colours of the rainbow
Look on the bright side of life
Each day has many different coloring
So your life's a rainbow too

The most amazing people I've ever met, were often the most unassuming. Quiet, calm, at peace. Then, when you finally got to know them... amazing backgrounds of terrible experiences. Somehow, the worst brings out the best. Experiencing the dark measures the light. Poetry, Art, writing, Life... all wrestle with this strange paradox.

We little humans, hurtling through the Universe on our tiny, pale blue dot, will find few answers to Life's great mysteries. But we should at least find many of the questions. To write is to ask. To seek. To grope. With humility, and humor. Peace.

Hi Francis, thank you for stopping by  and sharing your thoughts. I like what you said.  It is true that the worst brings out the best, and experiencing the dark measures the light.
